On June 8, 2018, Grade 1 visited the Green Market Santa Cruz as part of their Social Studies Unit on Communities. This was an exciting day for them where they got to be involved in so many different activities. They collected eggs from chickens, they learned about all the different fruit and vegetables grown and sold at the Green Market, they learned about reducing, reusing and recycling and that was only part of their experience. The students were also involved in a discussion on the importance of buying local and how the Green Market which is a community in itself also helps the wider community. Thanks to Green Market Santa Cruz for a terrific day of learning outside the classroom!
